Bérénice Marlohe (born May 19, 1979) is French actress and model. It has been confirmed that Marlohe will play Bond girl Sévérine in the twenty-third James Bond film, Skyfall, set for release in 2012. She was noticed in such TV appearances as Père et Maire, Femmes de loi, Equipe médicale d’urgence, R.I.S. Police scientifique, and is currently filming the French comedy Un bonheur n’arrive jamais seul with Sophie Marceau. Marlohe can speak French, English, Spanish and Arabic. Her first acting job was a short entitled La Discordance, made in 2007. Skyfall marks Marlohe’s English speaking acting debut.
Bernice revealed that she had to learn how to fire a gun for the filming of Skyfall, the twenty-third installment of the James Bond franchise.
Berenice is the the sixth French actress to have played a Bond girl. The other five are Claudine Auger (Thunderball, 1965), Caroline Bouque (For Your Eyes Only, 1981), Sophie Marceau (The World Is Not Enough, 1999), Eva Green (Casino Royale, 2006), and Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace, 2008-who was raised in the Ukraine, but moved to Paris when she was 16, later becoming a French citizen in 2001). Berenice is also one of the older Bond girls in recent memory. Eva Green was only 26 at the time she donned the mantel and, Gemma Arterton (Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace) was a mere 22. She is not the oldest however, Halle Berry was 36 when she played Jinx in Die Another Day. Skyfall is scheduled for release on November 9, 2012.
