Eva Herzigová (born 10 March 1973) is a Czech model and actress. Herzigová was born in Litvínov, Czechoslovakia, now known as the Czech Republic. Discovered at age 17 while on a family day trip to Germany when she was approached to enter a beauty contest in Prague, sponsored by the American modeling firm, Madison. She began her modeling career after winning the contest in 1989. After arriving in Paris, her popularity increased. Her first important appearance was the Wonderbra campaign in 1990s. She was also featured in Guess? jeans advertisements. She has also appeared in Victoria’s Secret catalog and Sports Illustrated. She was a member of Thomas Zeumer’s Metropolitan Models. Herzigová has also appeared in several movies. By the end of 1998 her net worth was over $12.3 million dollars.
In 1994, an ad for Wonderbra featured a close-up image of Herzigová wearing a black Wonderbra. The ad used only two words: “Hello boys.” The ground-breaking, influential poster was featured in an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and it was voted number 10 in a “Poster of the Century” contest. The billboard was voted in 2011 as the most iconic outdoor ad during the past five decades by the Outdoor Media Centre.
In 2006 she was Venus at the 2006 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. She married Tico Torres, the drummer from Bon Jovi, in September 1996, in a lavish wedding attended by, among others, Donald Trump. The pair divorced in June 1998. She is signed to Storm Model Management in London, and 1/One Management in New York City. In 2003, Eva Herzigová sued Canadian retailer La Senza for $36,000 for a breach of contract. La Senza refused to pay her for a catalog photo shoot because the company did not approve of her recently shortened haircut. -Wikipedia
