Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988) is an American singer and songwriter, who was born in Meridian, Mississippi and raised in Franklin, Tennessee. She is the lead vocalist of the band Paramore. Williams was discovered in 2003 at the age of 14 by Atlantic Records.
Atlantic’s original plan for Williams was to make her a solo pop artist, but she objected to this, wanting to be part of a band and play alternative rock music instead. She then formed Paramore in Franklin, Tennessee, with Josh Farro, Zac Farro, and Jeremy Davis in 2004. Paramore released their music through Atlantic’s niche label, Fueled by Ramen. The debut album was released in 2005 when Hayley was 16 years old. In June 2009, the band welcomed Taylor York (rhythm guitar) as an official member, although he had already been playing as a touring member with the band since 2007. In 2006, Paramore started touring outside of the United States for the first time, which included a headline tour of the UK.
Williams wrote and recorded the song Teenagers as a soloist, which was featured in the soundtrack for the feature film Jennifer’s Body, starring Megan Fox. In 2010, Williams appeared on the tracks Airplanes and Airplanes Part II from alternative rapper B.o.B’s debut album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray. When it was released as a single, Airplanes peaked within the top ten in nineteen countries, including the number one positions in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
In a 2007 Kerrang! Readers Poll, Williams finished second to Evanescence’s Amy Lee in the Sexiest Female category. Williams took the top spot in the poll a year later, in 2008 and again in 2009. Williams also appears as a playable character in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour. -Wikipedia

The label’s original plan for their sassy new singer was to make her a solo pop artist. We’ll pause yet again, to give Hayley’s insane and rabid fan base, a brief respite to curb their laughter. Hayley Williams, a pop star. Obviously, Williams objected this notion in lieu of joining a band that played alternative music. Atlantic Records, the smart cads that they are, decided to go along with her wishes. Voila. Paramore was formed. We’re not only fans of Paramore’s music, but we dig Hayley’s craziness and style as well. Frankly, we love the red hair and if you want to know the truth, we think she’s got a pretty kissable pucker too.
