Lyndsy Marie Fonseca (born January 7, 1987) is an American actress best known for playing Alexandra Udinov alongside Maggie Q, on the CW series Nikita, and as troubled teen Colleen Carlton on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and The Restless. Fonseca is of half-Portuguese descent. She was born in Oakland, California and raised in Alameda and Moraga, California.
In 2001, when Fonseca was 13, she competed in the International Modeling & Talent Association, where she received first runner-up for “Miss Barbizon Young Miss Talent of the Year” and second runner-up for “Young Miss Dancer of the Year”. There, she was discovered by a manager and agent, and immediately moved to Los Angeles in the middle of the school year for her first pilot season. The following year she was booked for what would become her breakthrough role on the The Young and the Restless, where she starred for three years.
After leaving Y&R, Lyndsy guest appeared on shows such as Boston Public, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and House M.D. . Fonseca also had a recurring role on the hit series, Desperate Housewives. She additionally had recurring roles on HBO’s Big Love and the hit comedy How I Met Your Mother, as well as her starring role on Nikita. Fonseca’s film credits include; Remember The Daze (2007), The Ward (2010), Hot Tub Time Machine (2010), Fort McCoy (2011) and Kick-Ass (2010). Lyndsy recently completed filming the two-hour Lifetime movie, Five, which consists of five short films about breast cancer, directed by Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Penelope Spheeris. In 2005 she starred in the Hallmark TV film, Ordinary Miracles, as a 16-year-old juvenile delinquent who goes to live with a judge.
