Monique Gaxiola (born December 8, 1986) is an American athlete. She played the position of midfielder for the USC Women of Troy Soccer team, where she majored in communications. Her parents are Suzanne and Hector Hipolito, and she has four brothers, John, Hector, Jesse and Marcos. She is best known for being team captain of the Los Angeles Temptation football team, in the Lingerie Football League, where she wears number thirteen. She plays multiple positions for the Temptation, including Linebacker, Wide Receiver, Running Back, Kicker, Corner, Safety, and even Offensive Linemen.
She was a varsity athlete at John F. Kennedy High School in Granada Hills, California, in soccer, cross country, cheerleading, and track and field. She also played on the junior varsity football team for a few months as the kicker. During her senior year of high school she was a member of the under-19 Women’s Mexican National Soccer Team and also trained with Mexico’s U-20 National Team. Her high school notables include being a four-time All-Valley Mission League First Team selection, four-time Scholar-Athlete, being named to the Lancaster All-Tournament Team and All-City Second Team in 2004, and for being an honor student.
In 2007, she transferred from a Pierce College in Los Angeles to the University of Southern California where she continued her soccer career. At Pierce, she earned First Team Western State Conference honors in 2005, and was a scholar athlete both years while being a member of the Dean’s List. As a USC Trojan, she won a National Championship in soccer in 2007. In 2008, She became a part of the Competition Cheer Squad. She discovered the Lingerie Football League through a close friend and tried out for the Los Angeles Temptation in the Spring of 2009.
