Olha Kostyantynivna Kurylenko (born November 14, 1979) (Ukrainian: Ольга Костянтинівна Куриленко; Russian Ольга Константиновна Куриленко) is an actress and model, best known for her role as Camille Montes, in the 22nd James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. Kurylenko was born in Berdyansk, Zaporizhia Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, in the former Soviet Union. Upon the Soviet Union’s dissolution, the Ukrainian SSR was transformed into the modern nation-state of Ukraine. Her father, Konstantin, is Ukrainian, and her mother, Marina Alyabusheva, is an art teacher of Russian and Belarusian descent, who was born in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia. Kurylenko became a French citizen in 2001, and moved to London in 2009. During her years in Ukraine she studied art and languages and spent seven years at musical school studying piano, and went to a ballet studio until 13.
When Kurylenko was three years old, her parents divorced. After the divorce Olga’s mother struggled to survive as an art teacher. As a result, Kurylenko grew up in a Soviet apartment she shared with her mother, aunt, uncle, grandparents, and cousin- being raised by her mother and her grandmother, Raisa. Olga lived in poverty often wearing hand-me-downs and re-sewing torn sweaters. “I couldn’t have anything, basically,” she has said of her childhood. “I couldn’t have any clothes I wanted, shoes, beds, clothes for school — because my mum couldn’t buy them.” Kurylenko rarely had contact with her father, meeting him for the first time when she was eight years old, and later again when she was 13.
At age 13 Olga and her mother went to Moscow, where she was spotted by an agent, who approached her at a subway station and offered her a job as a model. By age 16 Kurylenko moved to Paris, learned French in six months and was signed by the Paris based Madison Modeling Agency. At age 18 she appeared on the cover of Glamour, and went on to become the face of Bebe clothing, Helena Rubinstein, and several other companies. She also modeled for Roberto Cavalli, Kenzo, and appeared in the Victoria’s Secret catalog.
Kurylenko’s first acting appearance was in Seal’s music video, Love’s Divine in 2003. Her film debut was in 2005 as Iris in The Ring Finger. Kurylenko received a Certificate of Excellence Award at the 2006 Brooklyn International Film Festival for her performance in L’Annulaire, and also starred as a Vampire in the film, Paris, je t’aime, in the segment entitled Quartier de la Madeleine. In 2007, Kurylenko starred in Hitman alongside Timothy Olyphant, and had a role in Max Payne as Natasha. In 2008 she played Camille Montes in the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. In 2010, she played a bounty hunter, Etain, in Neil Marshall’s Centurion.
Kurylenko’s 2012 and 2013 film appearances include roles in Joseph Kosinski’s upcoming sci-fi epic Oblivion (working title) with Tom Cruise, The Expatriate, the dark comedy Seven Psychopaths, Terrence Malick’s existential drama The Burial (working title), and the $100 million Chinese-American 3-D epic without a release date, Empires of the Deep where she will headline the film as a mermaid.
In 2000, Kurylenko married French fashion photographer Cedric van Mol, but the couple divorced four years later. In 2006, she married American mobile phone accessory entrepreneur Damian Gabrielle, however they divorced in late 2007. Kurylenko is a philanthropist noted for her work for the underprivileged, focusing on children in her native Ukraine. While working as a model in Paris, Kurylenko supported her mother in Ukraine. In Ukraine the then-mayor of Berdyansk suggested naming a street after her in early 2008. The fact that she is the first Bond girl from a post-Soviet state received mixed reactions in Russia. The Saint Petersburg based Communist group KPLO, accused her of “moral and intellectual betrayal” for starring in a film about the “enemy of the Soviet people” (meaning James Bond). -Wikipedia

Why we think she’s hot:
Olga Kurylenko, a Ukrainian-born actress and model, who grew up in virtual poverty sharing a Soviet apartment with her uncle, aunt, grandparents and cousin, is a hypnotically sexy wonder. In 2010, she reasonably redefined the word ‘sexy’ by playing the bad ass bounty hunter, Etain, in Neil Marshall’s Centurion. Her libidinous legs could basically set fire to Rome all on their own, but when one considers Kurylenko’s whole moxie, she is arguably the steamiest starlet around, blending inherent ‘spice’ with an intangible innocence, that makes anyone consider a cold shower after a single glance. In a nutshell, she doesn’t need aphrodisiacs, she is the aphrodisiac.
