Summer Danielle Altice (born December 23, 1979) is an American fashion model and actress. Altice was chosen as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in August 2000. Altice was born in Fountain Valley, California and has an older sister named Kari. She was named after Miss USA 1975, Summer Bartholomew. Altice graduated from Fountain Valley high school with a 3.85 GPA in 1997. She is 5’10″ (177.8 cm) tall.
Altice lettered for four seasons in volleyball at Fountain Valley high school, and signed at San Diego State University in March of 1997 to the Aztecs women’s volleyball team as an outside hitter. Altice competed for two years at SDSU while studying communications. She was named to the All-WAC Academic team in ’99 for her sophomore season, during which she maintained in 3.85 GPA. Altice transferred to UCLA in the Spring of 2000 to continue her communications studies and further pursue her modeling career. In 1995, Altice won a YM Magazine cover girl contest and appeared on the cover of the November issue later that year. She subsequently signed with Elite modeling agency before appearing on the cover of GQ as well as other men’s magazines.
As an actress, Altice has made several small television appearances, most notably on episodes of The Young and the Restless, One Tree Hill, Entourage, and CSI: New York. In film, she has had roles in The Scorpion King, You, Me and Dupree, and Wedding Crashers among others. She has also appeared in several Playboy videos as well as on the Howard Stern Show on different occasions. Altice also appeared on Dating In The Dark on August 16, 2010, portraying herself as a “DJ” so that her modeling background would not influence the dating process.
In 2000 several newspapers and magazines reported that Summer was the reason Helen Hunt separated from husband Hank Azaria. When asked if the rumors were true, Summer stated that she had never met Hank Azaria and found it very amusing that she was ‘involved’ with someone she had never met. -Various
