JEANNE BASONE SEPTEMBER 2011 HOT CHICK O’ THE MONTH
When September approaches, one can literally smell football in the air, and along for the ride is that feeling of joy that comes in knowing that action packed College Football Saturdays… and lazy Sundays are just around the corner. But for us here at Smartasses, a Saturday wasn’t a Saturday, September or otherwise, unless the night was capped off with an evening of Headbangers Ball, WWF Superstars, Ric Flair & the NWA… and the most anticipated of all – The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.
Just as one wouldn’t walk into a Catholic church without talking about Jesus, neither does one speak of G.L.O.W. without talking about ‘Hollywood’, the sexiest of ‘em all. Not unlike the way Happy Days defined the word ‘nerd’ for us and made it a household term, Hollywood defined the idiom ‘bad girl’, reveling in all her evilness at your TV set every weekend with laced gloves, funky crimped hair and an arched brow- looking as if she’d quite possibly been in The Warriors or a Scandal video… and just finished kicking all their asses with a West Coast Attitude and a smile on her face. Well folks, Hollywood’s real name is Jeanne Basone, she is still hot, and yes, she is still badder than you.
Proof being what it is- in the pudding (in this case, as opposed to mud or Jello) Hollywood has graced several magazine covers, including but not limited to, Playboy – Dec 1989, Playboy’s Career Girls Aug 1992, Playboy Lingerie – Jan/Feb 1993 Issue, May/June1993 Issue; Easy Riders – April 1995 Issue, Cover and Pictorial; Fighting Females – Covers – Winter 97, Fall 98, Summer 99, Fall 2000 and the Special Oct Issue 2000 as well as Gene Simmons’ – Tongue Magazine – Spring 2003 Pictorial “Headlock Hotties”. That’s quite a mouthful, not to mention that she was recently voted #11 on Smart Mark Radio’s Top 25 Sexiest Female Wrestlers Of All Time.
But to understand Jeanne Basone of the present, one must first understand Jeanne Basone of the past. It was the late 80′s and an adventurous young Taurus-gal literally grabbed the proverbial ‘bull by the horns’ and took a chance on what many would consider an ‘iffy’ sounding interview opportunity, became immediately signed, and instantaneously began her journey into the exciting, somewhat uncharted, and still remote world of female wrestling. As fate would have it, she would assume her role as “Hollywood”, and become one half of the deliciously infamous tag team known as Hollywood and Vine, which was part of the aforementioned, and unquestionably trend setting show- The Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling (GLOW). What started as a whim for the precocious Basone, would lead to “Hollywood” becoming an absolute icon, and modern pioneer of the sport. Fast forward a decade or so later, and in 1998, Hollywould Productions was born as a result of Jeanne’s relentless effort to provide material for her coveted fans. Today, Hollywould Productions (yes it really is spelled Hollywould) and Basone have much to offer, as Jeanne has produced and starred in literally hundreds of wrestling videos which include Ring Matches, Apartment Style Matches, and not to mention Lift & Carry and Superheroine Matches. Perhaps unlike any other animals out there, Jeanne and Hollywould Productions seriously mean it when they claim to “listen to what fans have to say” going so far as to even give peeps an opportunity to fulfill their individual dreams and fantasies… by scripting their own custom matches.
In fact, Wrestlingbabe.com one of Hollywood’s premiere websites, features a fantastic compilation of Wrestling, Superheroine, Lift & Carry and mixed downloads, which rounds out the product line to deliver material hot off the press to Hollywoods Fans! Come along for the ride, it just gets better! She also has a membership site at Hollywouldproductions.com.
Hungry for more Hollywood? For one, you can listen to her awesome interview on Smartmarkradio.com, or you can also find her on Twitter, Facebook, Her Facebook Fan Page, and of course at JeanneBasone.Com.
