Hard to believe, but Carmen Soo was the first, and as of 2012, the only Malaysian actress to ever appear on a Filipino TV show. Pinay and Pinoy alike were able to catch Carmen hosting Wowowee, the noon-time variety show on ABS-CBN, but unfortunately the show was cancelled in July of 2010 after only four months. Luckily for us, this five-foot-two fashion model of Chinese descent has enough other TV appearances and print ads to keep her busy for awhile- and also keep herself in the eye of Smartasses and the rest of her adoring public. Carmen speaks fluent Mandarin and Malay as well as English, and thankfully she is also learning Tagalog, which means millions were able to catch her starring as Princess Amara, on the Filipino drama, 5 Star Special. She certainly earns five stars from us as well.
